silkscreen prints
In 2010, Calgary artist Alden Alfon saw my decorative heron drawings and suggested silkscreen prints. We started first with the heron, then the owl, and then I decided I wanted to re-create a mandala I had drawn the year before. For this latter project, I went to Calgary for a three-day print marathon where he encouraged me to play with colour and so I mixed inks on the spot and we had a blast creating 20 different variations of the same image which was initially going to be 60 of the same colour combination (version 1 in the gallery below).
Note: Mandala colours are even, the lighting was off for the documentation.
